My First Bookmark

Evening Peeps,

A late post from me so I will keep it quick. I wanted to enter the Creative Inspirations Bookmark challenge this week and the bank holiday threw me completely, so I have been beavering away in my craft room since I got in from work, so hopefully I have made it in time. In my mind I wanted to get three done, one for my Daughter, one for my Son and one for little ole me, but as with all my colouring and crafting, nothing is quick, lol. So here is my first ever crafted bookmark.

All in Blue

Evening Peeps,

Hope everyone in the UK is enjoying the extended weekend. I have had a long lay in this morning and Hubby made me breakfast in bed, lol, don't get too excited it was only toast. Nevertheless, I did appreciate it. I have also chilled whilst the boys went out to football and watched "Leap Year", gotta watch those sort of films without the boys around, they just don't appreciate girlie films.

I made this card using my neglected whiff of joy stamp, available from Crafts and Me and using one of my favourite colours, blues.

Still Funky at 50!

Morning Peeps,

I know I've been absent this week but I decided last week that my craft room needing sorting as everywhere I looked it just looked a real mess. So I purchased some A4 storage boxes and everything now has a home. I also filed all my stamps CD cases, popped a stamped image on the front of each CD and popped them into storage boxes on the shelfs too. So it looks tidy but kind of weird to work in, lol, and I'm sure I won't be able to find anything.

Anyway, enough of my waffling, today's card is my DT card for Craftalicious and the theme this week has been chosen by the fabulous Tasha and is "Green and Purple". Our sponsor this week is "Some Odd Girl" and the DT were fortunate to choose one of these really funky images. I have chosen 80's Kaylee as I had to do a birthday card for my SIL's 50th birthday and thought this would be ideal and she never really left the 80's, lol.  She's still grooving and still hitting the pubs! Let's hope she likes it and doesn't leave it in the pub!

My First Lili of the Valley Stamp

Evening Peeps,

Hope everyone has had a fab weekend.  I have been in my craft room today having a  play. I have for sooooo long wanted to enter the Lili of the Valley challenge but never had any of their stamps.  Well lucky me my stamps have turned up and this is my first card.  Boy I am in love with these stamps..........

I have coloured the image using copics and have added Star Dust Stickles and also Glamour Dust for the snow.

I used a Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch and punched a few out in accetate and sprinkled with pee wee gliter.  I have had my peewee glitters since I started crafting so they were well worth the money.  The larger snowflake is a Marianne Design Die edged with pink and aqua inks.

Just a closer view of the snowflakes, they are sooooo sparkly.

Ingredients:-

Lili of the Valley Stamp
Medium - Copics
Stickles Star Dust
Glamour Dust
Marianne Design Snowflake Die
Pink Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts

Swirls & Pearls at Craftalicious

Happy Friday Peeps,

I know I have been a bit absent recently which has been due to a little holiday and work commitments but hopefully I will be back at my crafting desk this weekend, well after the housework has been done of course!

Today, over at Craftalicious the lovely Mandy has chosen the challenge of "Swirls and Pearls", so I know there are alot of you out there that just love your swirls and pearls, so we'll be popping by to nick your ideas, lol.  We are being sponsored by "The Crafty Purple Frog" who provide digi sweet pea decoupage sheets.  Now, I haven't done decoupage in years and had forgotten how theraputic it is cutting out all the layers, which you can do in front of the TV and put it altogher later.  Here's my card using the "Green Dragonfly":-

I have used Basic Grey papers edged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I have added lace at the bottom which also has sequins on, not captured too well in the photograph.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the different sized pearls were purchased on Ebay.  The flowers again have been distressed using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and I have added lots of stickles to the edges and also to the wings of the image and the two dragonflys, they really sparkle.

Here you can see the depth of the decoupage.

Please pop over to the Craftalicious Challenge Blog to see the beautiful creations that the Design Team have done and remember we have our first Guest Designer, Liz, who has done a beautiful card for us.  For Each challenge from now on a member of the design team will be choosing someone to guest design on the next challenge, so you never know, it could be you......but as they say, "You've got to be in it to win it", how corny is that?

I have entered this card into the following challenges:-

Mojo Monday - Sketch
Incy Wincy - Use a bug on your creation (two dragonflys)
Basic Grey - Pearls (papers are basic grey)
Paper Sundaes - Metal (charm attached to flowers, top rh corner)
Crafty Creations - Winged Things
Nutcrafters Nutshells - Free Choice
Raise The Bar - Pearls
Trimmies CRAFT - Insects
City Crafter - Use a heart (heart charm, top rh corner)
Digital Tuesday - Butterflies/Lace one or both - (Image is digi decoupage sheet, lace)

Thanks for stopping by.

It's Purple and Green at Craft's and Me

Good Morning Peeps,

Hopefully if this post has scheduled correctly I will be chilling in the Cotswolds, ahhhhhhh fabulous!  Today's challenge over at Crafts and Me has been chosen by our very own purple Frog "Amy" and Amy has chosen a colour theme, not too far off one of my favourite combo's, "Purple and Green".  Now, lilac and mint is one of my favourites and this combo is just a shade or two darker, so I personally love it.  We are being sponsored by Mary Dew Lee from Serendipity Stamps , these are gorgeous and I don't think you'll want to miss out so please pop over the see the beautiful creations the design time have produced HERE and we look forward to visiting all your blogs to see your interpretations of Green and Purple.  Here's my card using one of the new Crafts and Me very own brand of stamps designed by Sara Burrier, she is called "Romeo Oh Romeo" and you can purchase her from HERE.

The background paper was a freebie from Scrapbook Magazine and the green paper is from basic grey.

I have distressed all the edges using walnut stain distress ink and added diamond stickles. I added old paper distress ink around the image.  The image itself has been coloured with copics.  I was going to have a play with painting with my distress inks and creating a background but I couldn't find my watercolour brush :(  I do have some time schedule for a craft tidy up but the last time I did this I couldn't find anything for week's, lol!

A bit of a dimensional view for you.

I have used a Marianne Design Die for the swirls coming out of the flower bloom, which incidentally is from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I have also used two doilies and spritzed with glimmer mist, edged with walnut stain distress ink and added some diamond stickles.  I have also used those gorgeous metal corners, I got these from one of the craft fairs from a stall right in the corner and will have to try and find them again at the next Stameprama.  The leaves are from the gorgeous martha stewart front punch.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:-

Create 4 Fun - Sketch
Dutch Dare - Anything Goes
Just Hannah & Friends - Favourite Movie (Shirley Temple)
Paperplay - Anything Goes
Cupcake Craft - Distressing
All Sorts - Dressing Up

Wedding Project for Carly's Wedding

Morning Peeps,

I'm travelling on me little holiday at the moment so this is a scheduled post.  I've been on a mission to get this special exploding box finished for Carly from Charisma's wedding which is fast approaching this Saturday.  I have just finished it in the nick of time and will be on its way to Carly by the time you read this, well if I've remembered to take it with me to post on the way that is........

I apologise for the amount of pictures, but I just kept snapping:-

This is the outside of the exploding box.  The papers I have used have an irridescent finish to them so are very shinmmery.  They are by Kay & Co.  All matting is on Bazill c/s.

The is a picgture of the lid.  The doily is edged with a fluid chalk lilac inkpad and lots of diamond stickles added.  The edging of the box is lace with added white pearls and the majority of flowers used are from Wild Orchid Crafts and with added Martha Stewart Frond Punch Leaves.

Here it is all opened out.

Here's the main focus, the little bride and groom coloured using copics.

Here's a panel where I have computer generated the text message to Carly and Rob. Edged with ink pads and diamond stickles added for yet more sparkle, I do love a bit of sparkle and it is a wedding afterall.

This panel is another Magnolia Stamp and then I have added the "Congratulations" text from another stamp, just can't remember the brand at the moment.

Another panel using the Martha Stewart Heart punch, tied with a silk and organza lilac ribbon from stash and a little pearl to the centre.

I was trying to capture how sparkly this is with all it's glitz, but I think you may just have to believe me.

I think from this one you can see the irridescent sparkle of the papers and the diamond stickles!

Good luck Carly and Rob for Saturday and if you are half as happy as me and my Husband after 24 year's of marriage, it's gonna be a good one!  Enjoy your Day!

I have entered this creation into the following challenges:-

Charisma - Card for Carly
BunnyZoe - Summer (wedding time)
Pollycraft - Fit for a Princess

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to reading all your comments.  Have a good week.
