Busy Little Gardeners

Morning Crafters,

It's a bank holiday in the UK today and the sun is set to shine, yippeeee.  Well my Son has started to venture off on longer journey's in the car on his own this weekend and it's kinda of weird.  I'm so used to having him home that he left after Hubby had programmed the Satnat to avoid the motorway, and me and Hubby went for a walk with Ollie.  I said goodbye to my Daughter and reminded her to lock up after she goes out for the evening.  We arrived back home an hour later and I said to my Husband have you got the key..... he looked at me and said no, have you.. Lol, we were locked out.   I had to call my Daughter and ask her to come home to let us in, she wasn't happy with us, lol. Guess we'll get used to noone being at home anymore.... sob, sob, sob.

My card today is my DT card for Live and Love Crafts, the theme that the DT are following this week is "Animals".  The Girls are really so talented that hop on over and become a follower if you aren't already, you won't want to miss the inspiration and all those yummy goodies that LLC stock. I have used a Lili of the Valley image,  and water coloured with distress inks, aren't these two gardeners just the cutest.  The laces are absolutely gorgeous and I have used 3 varieties, all thumbnail links below as usual.

The beautiful papers are by MajaDesign Vintage Summer Basics 1921, really love this paper, in fact I have just ordered some more, lol.

The mini bark heart was stamped with the text from the Magnolia Butterfly kit.  The wooden butterfly was embossed with the shabby white frantage and an Idea-ology game spinner and pearl added to the centre.

I have used shabby rose frantage on the 2mm beads around the image. Add edges have been distressed with gesso and snowtex.  The little watering can charm is from TheRibbonGirl and perfect for these little cuties.

Hugs Tracy x

Ho Ho Ho

Hi Peeps,

Don't know about you but I still have alot to do for Christmas.  I haven't personally written one card and this may surprise you as a cardmaker, but I absolutely hate writing Christmas cards, always have and probably always will, lol.  I haven't even had the time or energy to put up any dec's but hopefully this weekend I will spring into action.

Today is the last challenge of the year for Marianne's Divas and guess what it is.....  yep, real easy "Christmas".  I'm sure this one will be extremely popular and we have some fab prizes so hop on over HERE to check out all the deets.

My card was a commissioned card and they wanted a Santa so I coloured up this cute little LOTV Santa.

 Ingredients:-
Marianne Design Flowers
Lots of glitter snotex, love this stuff
Martha stewart branch punch (available from BunnyZoe)
Papers by Webster

I stamped  Santa onto Perfect Colouring Cardstock and used my beloved copics.

I put the whole card together using this fabulous tape from Xpress It.  It comes in 3mm, 6mm and 12mm widths and it comes in 25 and 50 metre reels which is just what I need as I hate it when the tape runs out in the middle of making a card and I'm sure you do too!

Onwards and Upwards as they say...  I was asked sometime ago if I would Guest Design for Papertake Weekly which I had to put off until now, due to my busy workload,  but now they have me for the whole of July so I hope I was worth waiting for, lol.........

The theme for this week's challenge is Anything Goes with the option of Buttons.  The sponsor this week is Lili of the Valley so what better excuse was there to use one of my gorgeous LOTV stamps.  Although I've just realised I haven't coloured the spots on her hat, lol, never mind.

Fairy Wonderland

Morning Peeps,

Gosh the weekend's aren't long enough and for some reason I seem to have lost my mojo. This card has taken me two days to finish, yikes!! This is my first attempt at masking a rubbersstamp with a digi image. The digital Fairy House is from Make It Crafty and the current challenge is to "make a scene". There are some fab tutorials on their site so would recommend you popping over. Here's the finished result:-

Posted by Picasa
I used the gorgeous fairy from Lili of the Valley, just love their stamps, with the Fairy House from Make It Crafty and coloured the images using my favourite medium, Copics.  The task of making wasn't without a few teething problems, lol.  I followed the tutorial for Word and first stamped the Lili of the Valley stamp onto my Cryogen cardstock and then measured according to the tutorial. I then printed it out on paper first to check it was all in the right place before putting the cryogen through the printer.  My first problem is that everyone seems to be out of stock of the eclipse masking paper so I had to use a post it note.  Whilst trying to roll my repositional tape on the back of the post it note due to  several places being rather thin, i.e the wand, neck, wings etc. it tended to rip so my mask was in about 4 pieces in the end., but it did hold up. But I wasn't giving up so easily.  My next problem was when I put my cryogen through the printer I forgot to change the size as the cryogen is shorted in length than A4 so my measuring was all out and I had to start again, grrrrrrrrrrrr.  So I can guess, you can see why this card took me two days!

But as you can see I got there in the end.

Because the image was quite large I had to cut it out, again alot of tricky areas but my fiskars finger knife came in very handy, and overall I'm happy with the result.

I have entered this labour of love into the following challenges:-

Make It Crafty - Create a scene
Lili of the Valley - Sketch
ABC Challenge - D for Distressing
Sundays with Crissy - Sparkly and Shiny
Sir Stamp Alot - Distressing
