Some News And.......................

Hiya Peeps,

I've been running around here, there and everywhere today and just haven't had the time to tell you the fabulous news, LOOK................

Yayyy, I'm on the Bunny Zoe Design Team. Can't wait to get started.

And for my second bit of news, OMG, just look at what fell into my arms today:-

This is Ollie.  He is just over 8 weeks old and is a Bichon Frise. This was the smallest bed from Pets at Home, his head is about the size of a tennis ball.  He is just soooo cute!

I was convinced by my daugher who has been harpering on about never having a puppy, and as she has had such a terrible time of late, with the recent loss of her best friend I have given in.  So when my friend came over from Spain with her Spanish Water Dog and decided that she was going to return to the UK for good, I offered to look after Kira whilst she returned to Spain to pack up her house.  I said to Jade and Conor, right this is your time to look after the dog and if all goes well I'll let them have one.  What I didn't expect was how much I was going to love Kira and when Andrea gave me her return date, I was upset to think we would have to give her back, so this is where the story began.

I would like to say though that not owning a dog before I searched the online Ad places, with help from a couple of friends of where to look, and I nearly fell victim of the scams that are going on. I was so shocked by this.  I contacted one of the Ads for puppies advertised in Guildford.  I had a response with a load of questions about us as a family, kids, if we had a backgarden etc.  I saw this as a good sign that they were looking for a good home.  I answered them all and received an answer back saying they were happy with my replies and that due to work relocation they were actually located in the Isle of Man, but this wouldn't be a problem as for £250 he could arrange in the morning, puppy transportation.  I wasn't 100% happy with this, so said I would look for my own transport, to which surprisingly he said yeah o.k.  I thought well he must be genuine.  Transport quote was £750, so of course this route was out of the question.  I advised that it wasn't working out and he said he could do it for £150.  To cut a long story short after googling I found out that this is a scam and you would never receive the puppy and you would go on to receive calls from the transport company with problems, like the wrong crate and they need another £500, etc. etc.

I enquired after another 3 different puppies all with different locations, and all the responses were similar to above.  So just to warn you if you get anyone changing the location to Ireland, Isle of Man or anywhere a long way away, and the offer seems to good to be true, then it is.  Stay well away.

Thankfully we travelled an hour to Essex for our little Ollie and he is adorable.

Easy Version of Merging Digital with Rubber Stamps

Hiya Peeps,

I have written this tutorial for those wanting to try merging digital images with your existing rubber stamps. I have used Word but the principal should be same with whatever package you are using.  Please note all pictures will expand when clicked on.

This is the picture we ultimately end up with:-

And this is how we achieve this scene.

In word you have two ways of bringing your image in. Firstly by copying and pasting. Go to where your digital image is saved on your computer and right click.  Choose Copy.

Open up a new page in word, right click and choose Paste, or a quick way to do this is to press the control key and "V".

Now your image is on the page you will want to be able to move it around.  Right click on your mouse, Choose Text Wrapping and then Square.

OK, now you are free to move your image around the page but you may need to resize.  You will see the square around the image.  Right click on the top left hand corner of the box and Wthen hold down the left click button on your mouse and move it up or down to resize.

When you think you have it in the right postion print out on paper, not your stamping card.  I then put my image against it to see if I have the right height.  Adjust as necessary for your image.  Once I have it in the right place I need to mark where I will need to stamp my image.

Now you need to get out your stamping card.  You may want to test different cards with the inks in your printer.  For printing digi's with my HP printer I have to use the cheapest black ink I can find.  It is all down to the pigment in the ink.  If I use the original ink, then it smudges with my copics.  I also set to print on draft but again your printer may be different, so please experiment and don't give up.

Place your draft copy with the mark in position on top of your stamping card.  I use a very sharp pencil to go through the marker and pierce the paper and inserting the dot onto the stamping card. This is where I will need to stamp my image.

Stamp your image where you have marked.

Now yo need to mask off your image.  You will need a masking tape, I have used woodware, staz on ink, this is important and the only ink you can use on shiny surfaces and of course your choice of image.  Stamp out your image using the staz on onto the masing tape/film and cut out.

Match the mask over your stamped image on your cardstock and you are now ready to put the image through the printer to add your digi background.

Remove your mask and you are now ready to colour.  Be careful when removing your mask as the printer ink on top of the mask will come off on your hands and you do not want to get this over your image.

And here is my finished card.

Again I have had drawn the clouds and used B91, B000, C1, C3, C00

I have embossed the doily and dragonfly with moonglow embossing ink, so it changes from a blue to a gold colour in the light.

Here is the complete list of copics I have used.

 Ingredients:-

Butterfly Girl Image is by Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy HERE
Tulip Garden Digi by Make It Crafty HERE
Lasercut Chipboard Dragonfly and Corner Flourish by Make It Crafty HERE

I'm Back

Hiya Peeps,

I'm back! Had a really chillaxing holiday but took me a few days to get into the swing of relaxing, I'm always on the go doing one thing or another that I find it really hard to relax and totally chill, so think a two week holiday will have to be called for next time as by the time I had chilled it was almost time to go home.  Mind you with the temperatures soaring between 35-40 it is difficult to relax, it was a little too hot for me, a sign of getting older maybe????

Anyway, thought I had best post the picture of the card that I should have posted when I was away.  This is Aerial by Sara Burrier available from Crafts and Me and speaking of which, if you attending the Stamperama Show on Sunday, be sure to pop by and say Hi.  The Stand will be full of all the newly released stamps so I'm sure you'll be wanting to stock up.

I must say I thought the holiday would do me good, but I have returned with not an ounze of me wanting to enter my craft room.  Oops! Hopefully this will change by the weekend as I will be colouring on the Crafts and Me Stand, so my mojo needs to return pretty pronto.

See you on Sunday when Make It Crafty and Whimsey Stamps come together for a joint release blog hop.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:-

Batwings and Boots

Hiya Peeps,

If this has posted then I'm still in Turkey, enjoying the sun and most importantly a very well earned break, but wanted to let you know that  today's challenge at Make It Colourful is "PINK".  I have paired up the Metallic Flowers from Make It Crafty with one of the new Crafts and Me Designers.  The image is called "Batwings and Boots".

My card is on the clean and simple side, mainly because it is going into the Book that will be on show at the Crafts and Me Stand at Stamperama on Sunday 14th August.  If you'll be there pop along and say hi.

The cogs are Lasecut chipboard pieces from Make It Crafty and I have covered two in black acrylic paint and one using silver embossing powder.  I really love my chippies.

Hope your all having a fab week and I will be back next week, so will look forward to reading all your comments.
