Black, White + One Other at Karen's Doodles

Happy Wednesday Peeps,

Hope everyone in the UK has been enjoying the gorgeous weather we have had lately.

It's Wednesday and time for another challenge at Karen's Doodles and this week's theme is to create a card/project using Black, White and One Other Colour. Remember to use a Karen's Doodles image, available HERE, to enter and be sure to visit the design team's awesome inspirational creations.  That was a mouthful wasn't it, I must have swallowed the dictionary, lol.  I have chosen a Christmas image, thought I would try and get ahead of the game and every little helps, as they say.

And yes, it's stitching you can see.  I pulled out the sewing machine and away I went. And strangely enough the following day my son came home from school, I was in the front garden planting some summer flowers at the time, (just setting the scene), and he said, "Mum, have you still got that sewing machine out".  I said "yes", "why".  He said look at this and turned around so that I could see a 12" hole and all of his bottom showing!    Somehow he had managed to split his trousers from the crutch up to the waist band!  So off I went again.  Not like me at all, let's hope it holds for 3 more weeks!!!  Anyway, onto my card:-

Ingredients:-

Image coloured with copics
Magnolia Paper
Snowflake Vellum (small panel, not shown very well in the photo)
All matting is Bazill c/s
Martha Stewart Border Punch
Nesties for the scalloped Square
Sentiment from Craftwork Cards
Ribbon, Pearls (altered with copics to match colour scheme) from stash

I have entered this card into the following challenges:-

Die Cut Dreams Christmas Challenges - A for Artic
Sweet Stop - Sketch
Alice in Wonderland - Twinkle Twinkle
Papertake Weekly - Stitching
My Time to Craft - Zig Zags (stitching on bottom panel)

Tag It at Karen's Doodle's UK Challenge

2nd Post Peeps,

This time it's "Tag It" Time over at Karen's Doodles UK Challenge Blog. As always you have to use a Karen's Doodle image to enter, and with Karen's new blog, it couldn't be simpler and she has created some really fun images of late. Click HERE to shop.  In fact the one I have used made me smile so much I just had to have it, so although I still seem to be on the summer theme, I just love it.

Everyone needs a workout, lol.  Bigsby looks like he's having a whale of a time, just so much fun.  I made this for my friend's birthday last Friday and it was late in the evening, so I know my picture isn't brilliant but I don't have the card to take another one :(

I have entered this card into the following challenges:-

Last DT Card for Cooking It Up With Katie

Morning Peeps,

1st post of the day and some sad news.  I have decided this is my last design team card for Cooking It Up With Katie.  I have enjoyed my time on the design team but if I am honest I am struggling to keep up with design team cards and my life, so I have decided to step down so this is my last card.  Of course Katie and the team will still be seeing me in blogland.........

Today's recipe is to alter an embellishment, add some sparkle and use a die cut.

I used the Tim Holtz Die to cut the flowers and then layered them up and  sprayed them with water and scrunched them up.  I then added some distress ink and lots of glitter, so I think you could say I altered it.  I have also used the Martha Steward Frond punch for the leaves and die cut the scalloped oval using my nesties.  The image has been coloured using copics and the sentiment is craftwork cards.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:-

Creatalicious - Sketch plus sewing (handstitched crosses on the left hand side)
Everybody Art - Green/Pink
Crazy4Challenges - Flowers
Stampin for the weekend - Summer
Totally Gorjuss - Sugar & Spice
Bunny Zoe - Nice & Girly
One Stitch At A Time - Seeing Double (2 Flowers)
Paper Sundaes - Pretty as a Princess
Creative Craft - Stamp It Up

Lady with Fan Art Deco Stamp by Lilac Lemon Designs

Morning Crafters,

Were in for a lovely sunny weekend here in the UK and let's hope a win from the England Team, did I say that....... a little deviation from crafting there, sorry. Well today I have inked up my Lady with Fan Art Deco Stamp by Lilac Lemon Designs, available from Crafts and Me , just click HERE,  and what a fabulous image this is, I really enjoyed creating this card and I know my elder sister will be delighted with it.

Over at Sir Stampalot they want to see you use punches, so punch I did, lol. I have used the Martha Stewart Deco punch around the page punch to createthe main section of the Easel card. I then cut out a circle and used just the Martha Stewart edge punch to punch all around to create the deco edged matting circle and I have used the Martha Stewart Branch punch to create the leaves on the flowers.

I have used Glamour Dust Crystal Glitter to give her that extra sparkle and coloured the image with copic markers.

I just love this colour combination. The sentiment stamp is from Magnolia. I have coloured some flat back pearls using a black copic marker to match my project. I also used nesties for the matting.

The middle section is felt but I have had it such a long time I really don't know what it is called, but it is very striking and if anyone knows what it is called and where I could get some more I'd appreiciate knowing.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:-

Sir Stamp Alot - Punches
Crafting Life's Pieces - Sketch
Bunny Zoe - Nice and Girly
One Stitch At A Time - Celebrations

I really appreciate you popping by and the comments that you leave.

Have a fab weekend everyone.

Monochromatic Madness at Craftalicious

Happy Friday Everyone,

You may have guess from the title that our 2nd Challenge at Craftalicious is Monochromatic, chosen by the Ab Fab Jan. The theme isn't a favourite of mine you may remember, but I'm kind of getting used to it now, lol.

Thanks to everyone who entered our first Challenge, the team really enjoyed visiting all your creations and we hope you will be joining us again this fortnight in our Monchromatic Madness challenge.

We are really appreciative of all our sponsors and this week we are lucky to have two. Our second sponsor is Delicious Doodles. Please pop over to the Craftalicious Challenge blog to visit all the gorgeous creations the DT girls have created and join in the fun.  Here's little Audrey:-

Audrey has been coloured with copics and I have added some glamour dust crystal to give her a sparkle, unforunately I don't think you can see this in the photo.  I have added tiny pearls as buttons on her shoes.

Hey Sunshine

Good morning Peeps,

It's Wednesday and you know what that means, yep, it's time to play at Karen's Doodles and this week it's a joint challenge with the theme of "In the Summertime". I decided to focus on the "Sun" as you will see from my card below and anyone who has a teenager will be familiar with the image I have chosen from Karen's new Teenage Doodles. Pop over and have a look, you will really be able to relate to them, lol! Click HERE to go shopping.

I have coloured the image using copic markers. I used string beads but cut them into the required lengths and coloured them with a copic marker to match my card. The flower looks blue in the photo but I can assure you its turquoise.  The template for the sun was from The Cutting Cafe, I printed it and layered it onto turquoise cardstock and cut around it to mat the sunshine.  I then added a bow, using my bow easy and there we go, simple!

I have entered this card into the following challenges:-
Pollycraft - Inspired By a Song - You are my Sunshine
A spoonful of Sugar - Sunshine Card
Quirky Crafts - Summer
Cute Card Thursday - Anything But a Square Card
Paper Play - Home (my card is with my daughter in mind chilling the back garden of our home)

BBQ Apron - Karen's Doodles and Craft Sale on Ebay

Unusual for me to post over the weekend, but I had to whip up a card for my Brother-in-law's birthday today, and this fab image is one of Karen's new doodles, he is just fab, don't you think?

I made the apron card with a pocket but wanted to add this super image, so I cut the image out using my nesties and popped it on the front of  the pocket. I had to print it a little smaller than I would of liked, which made the colouring/shading a little difficult, but I love the overall card..

The utentisils were cut using silver mirri card and quickutz dies.

Anyone for Lemonade - Belles & Whistles

Morning Peeps and a Happy Friday to you all, and if your in the UK it's going to be a glorious 24 degress, woo hoo!

Well, I don't know about you but I am completely whacked! I have had this week off work to do some decorating and I am shattered. I have satinwood painted 7 doors, yes 7, the skirting boards and banister and my little arms are aching from holding the paint pot! There has been no access to my craft room, why is it that everyone see's my craft room as the dumping ground. Good job I was organised with my card for this week prior to the bomb hitting.

My hands are like prunes from washing the paint off. For some reason at the end of Day 1 I thought it would be a good idea to squeeze my little roller out in the sink, ummmmmm, it was like I was wearing white gloves up to my elbows and ummmmmm satinwood paint, whoops, this doesn't come off with a bit of fairy, oh no, so I went to turn the tap off, whoops, tap now covered. This went on for a while until I found the turps. Anyway for some strange reason I had forgotton all about this last night, on Day 2, and I did it all over again, lol. It's a good job my painting is better than my clearing up. Anyway enough of boring you, here's my card for today. She is from Belles and Whistles and is called "Anyone for Lemonade", available from Teresa at Crafts and Me. I love these stamps.

The Design papers are Basic Grey, distressed with my making memories tool and inked with Walnut Stain distress ink.  I then added star dust stickles. The image is coloured using my gorgeous copic markers, just love these.  I made the flowers using several different punches and again added walnut stain distress ink and stickles and a little button to two of the centres.  The leaves are cut with Quickutz and again distressed and stickled.  I have added little flat back pearls from  my stash which I have coloured using my copic pen.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:-

Creative Card Crew - Pink and Green
Everybody Art - Summer
Simon Says Stamp - Pink or Blue with Green and Brown
The Secret Crafter - Buttons and Blooms
Cupcake Craft - Summer Delights
Belles and Whistles - Make Your Own Flowers

Oh I say, I do love to Tango!

Morning Peeps,

Let's hope the sun shines today in the UK. Yesterday was a horrible drizzly day but according to the forercast the rest of the week is supposed to nice and sunny. Would be nice for me as I am off work this week but then saying that were meant to be painting the hall, stairs and landing. Not good if it is a hot one, but then again, everyone needs to take a break, don't they, lol.

Well today is Wednesday and time for another challenge over at Karen's Doodles UK Challenge blog. This week's theme is....... "Distressing". Not everyone's favourite but personally I love it!

I chose Tango and if you haven't already heard Karen has opened a new online store, instant downloads and all the images are easy to view, and Karen has just added a brilliant range of images with Men in mind, ideal for Father's Day. So if you haven't already had a peak, hop on over especially as there is a SALE on of 20% off.  Click HERE.

Now, onto today's card. I chose the image, "Tango". Thought this would be lovely as an anniversary card for Hubby. Not that he knows that yet and I have made it in good time as it isn't our anniversary until 19th July, so well done me!

The design papers are all basic grey, I distressed the edges and added walnut stain and of course my gorgeous star dust stickles.  I have added lace and doily from my stash and again the doily has been distressed with walnut ink and stickles. The flowers have had a makeover as well, lol.  I inked the edges, added some puff paint, glitter the works!  The leaves are quickutz and again they went through my little production line of distressing.  I added a stamp in each of the corners and that little embellishment key.  The key is one of my favourites.  It's airdry clay available from Crafts and Me.  You simply pop it in the mould, leave on the window sill and that's it.  I wanted to keep it white, with a little sparkle, but you could paint, ink, colour, whatever you would like to it.

The image is coloured using copic markers.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:-

Basic Grey - Sketch (used basic grey papers)
Daring Cardmakers - Happy Anniversary
Kaboodledoodles - 3 papers, 2 embellishments (flowers/key), 1 image
