A Sketch at Bearly Mine & a Sneak Peek at My Tidy Craft Room

Morning Peeps,

Tuesday already and time for a sketch this week at Bearly Mine designed by Maria. And I thought as I have now finished tidying my craft room, I'll give you a sneak peek but don't look at the decor. This is the last room on the agenda, so just imagine wooden flooring and nicely painted walls and probably a blind, lol.  Enough waffling and onto my card.

I was meant to have a "Happy Mother's Day" tag popping out the right hand panel but I stuck the panel down forgetting completely about my tag, lol.

Thought I'd just show you a close up of the flowers and fabulous chipboard swirls, link below.

The beautiful papers are one of my favourites at the moment at Bearly Mine Designs, this is the Vintage Lace.  I have also used this on my post on Saturday, so scroll down if you want another peek. I also photographed this card on the Easel so you can see that beautiful lacey edge.

Now onto my foamboard copic storage, which I orginally saw on Donna's (Bearly Mine) blog.

I'm really pleased with it and it's quite sturdy too.

I made this one first but wasn't happy with the edges as I used my craft knife so thought I'd make a slightly bigger one so this one became my acrylic paint, puff paint, liquid pearl storage, plus there's space for more.
Don't know about you but I had a storage box overfilled with different coloured odds and ends that just never got used, so I made a 12x12 foamboard unit and separated the colours and I have to say that for the last 6 cards I have used I have reached for the odds and ends and haven't cut a new 12x12 piece of bazil cardstock.  Aren't I a good girl!

My nice tidy room inspired by Elaine from A Technophobes Blog, thank's Elaine, I do feel much better.

My new copic/distress ink/prisma pencil storage sat nicely on the desk and the 12x12 under the desk to the side.  As it's bits and pieces it's still messy in my book.

The drawers to the right are see through and I don't like looking at what's inside as again it looks messy, so I have slotted paper in with the contents listed on the outside.  The boxes on the shelfs, contains ribbons, cardstock, stamping cardstock, Sizzix Dies and all my Stamps in CD cases.

This is the wall behind me.  I have a unit housing wood back stamps, but not many, paper and 12x12 bazill cardstock.  My printer on top and my sewing machine on hand.

And hubby put up the final piece in my tidy up today, my magnetic boards filled with Marianne, Magnolia and Nesties.  Absolutely love this, and guess what, there's room for more, lol.

And lastly, this is the back of the door.  Housed with a shoe hanger containing all my cricut cartridges.

I have to say it's so lovely crafting in a tidy room, where everything has a place!

Ingredients for my card:-

Vintage Lace papers by Bearly Mine Designs available HERE
Bazil white and Kraft Cardstock
Chipboard swirls from Make It Crafty HERE
Corrugated card painted with acrylic paint and edged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Lace, pearls and Seam Binding from stash

First Christmas Card of 2011

Hi Peeps,

Hope you all had a fab weekend.  My mojo is still missing so this is the only card I did over the weekend, so now I have a lot of catching up to do during the week, but i don't know about you girls but my craft room looks like a bomb has dropped in it and I really need a good couple of weeks having a good sort out and making it organised and tidy.  Mind you, when I tidy up and then craft I can never find anything and find it totally frustrating.  I am pleased to say that the rest of the house is nothing like my craftroom, thank goodness, lol!

Today's card is for the Simply Sassy Inspiration Blog and I have used the gorgeous "Tammy" , and this is my  first christmas card of 2011, woo hooooo.  I did promise myself that I would be more organised this year and start early so I am really proud of myself.  Although I think Tammy has many uses other than just christmas.

My colour choice has been guided by my papers, which are all digital, and available from Bearly Mine.  These are all from the Winter Swirls set, aren't they gorgeous.

Panels have been machine stitched with zig zag stitching.  I added the little "Let it snow sentiment" to the snow at the bottom of the page.

I cut out the image and snowman so that I could position them on the page.  I have added star dust stickles to the snowman as I do like a sparkly snowman.  I have used paint puff on Tammys bobble on her hat and pom poms on her scarf and heated this with my heat gun to make it puffy.

Lots of texute on this card.  I have cut out snowflakes using spellbinders and a Martha Stewart punch in cardstock and accetate and added Twinkles Diamond Dust to the accetate snowflakes.  Love these.  They look like tiny crystals and really resemble snowfalkes.

I have stamped out the sentiment and then stamped with a versamark pad all over the cardstock and then added transparent embossing powder so the sentiment sparkles tremendously and kind of has a hint of lilac when catching the light, guess that's because its irridescent, lol.  I was going to start this post saying this was a simple card for me but I have used several techniques, but they all add to the overall feel of the card I think.

So put it altogether and this is what you get:-

And below are the copics I used.

A Recipe at Bearly Mine Designs

Morning Peeps,

It's Tuesday and time for a recipe at Bearly Mine Challenges and the recipe is an easy one, 3 flowers, 2 papers and 1 image.  Now, due to time constraints this card is kinda clean and simple to me, well my sort of version as you know clean and simple isn't my style, lol.

We are being sponsored by a new digi company called The Paper Shelter, they have lots of cute images so hop on over and take a peek.  I have chosen this cute Gothic Girl.  I haven't done her in the traditional red and black as I was wearing some lilac and grey rock stripey socks with rhinestones and the word ROCK on and these gave me inspiration for my lilac and black gothic girl, what do ya think........not not my socks, the card...... lol.  I should of took a pic of my socks.

I have used papers from Bearly Mine Vol III available HERE. She's coloured with copics as usual and popped onto a gorgeous doily. And check out my......my what, don't know what you call them, but those bits on the sides, lol.  My fabby teamie Vix sent me some Black Magic Coredinations card.  You sand it down and the colour comes through, isn't it fabulous.  Thank you Vi, just love it and  think it so suited my Gothic girl, well I thought so any way.

I have entered this card intot he following challenges:-
