Pion Design's Linneaeus Botanical Journal

Hello Everyone,

Have you seen the new Pion Design Linneaeus-Botanical Journal Jcollection of papers, gorgeous of course and you can get them from your vintage store Live and Love Crafts and would be perfect for this month's challenge at Live and Love Crafts of "In the Garden". Oh I love the smell of the new papers when they arrive and as you will see I didn't waste any time....

Pion Design invites you on a flourishing journey in the footsteps of Carl Linnaeus, the Swedish botanist famous for collecting and identifying plants and flowers particulary in the north of Sweden. The paper collection Linnaeus Botanical Journal is inspired by notes and drawings made by Linnaeus in the early 1700’s and has captured a sense of wonder at the world of all living things.

Traditional flowers such as Buttercups and Daisies accompanied by vintage maps and delicate butterflies are certain to unfold the calmness of nature and offer you endless of crafting inspiration. So welcome to make the botanical theme one of the necessities for this season’s crafting occasions!

For the shape I used the Dutch Doobadoo Bulge Stencil.  The papers I chose to work with were:-

Linnaeus Botanical Journal: Images PD6211
Linnaeus Botanical Journal: Aquilogia Vulgarius PD6205
Linnaeus Botanical Journal: Writings PD6208
Pion Design Palette: Pion purple PD6113

I cut the text from and added a little prima bloom spray in Irish and a little stamp to the corner.

The butterfly border was cut using the Linneaeus Botanical Journal Writings, I love the text for diecuts.

I used the Oval frame die to draw around the image and cut out to fit the frame.

I have also used the Pion Design Palette for the matching die cuts and base, I do love everything to match and PionDesign certainly make it easy for you.

Here's a close up of the beautiful image and perfect for the theme of "In the Garden".

Of course I have used the Pion Design butterflies from the border sheet, they are always a Must!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

Tropical Day

Good morning Everyone and what a glorious sun shiny day it is here in the South East of England, and seeing as we are having a little tropical weather I have made a little tropical card, hehe.

I have used the new tropical border but placed at the base of the card with a little grass.

I have cut the tropical border in white cardstock and embossed and then left the die in place and gone over the different elements using distress inks.  You may have noticed in the crafting accessories tab some new products, so take a peek.  I'm still building this but if there's anything you would like to see in there just let me know :)

I also have in stock the spellbinders tool n one and I used it for the first time on this card.  OMG I love it.  It gets all those little bits out of the die easily and it comes with two tools, a tiny spatula for getting the die off the card in the first place and a thin pokey tool to get any last remaining bits.

Here's a close up of the tropical border, I coloured it to match the papers from the Berry Sweet Paper pad.

I have added a few coctails.  Me and my sister are into these, lol, so they seemed very appropriate for her card.

I added the clouds from the popular cloud die set and added the word SISTER.

I have also used the new circle and flower die which is another beautiful die cut and even more so when cut.  The flower is also beautiful but it was more important to get the cocktails on this card, lol.

Have a good day.

The products used can be ordered in the Noor! Design U.K. webshop:

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend.  We had the Noor Design UK Workshop yesteday, always good to meet up craft, I'll be sharing with you what we made in the class real soon :)

Well, it's challenge time at Noor Design UK with a theme of "Here Comes Summer" and I have chosen to use the Beach Huts and the All at Sea Paper pad to come up with my vintage chabby chic version, hope you like it.

The Windows and Door are from the Dutch Doobadoo MFD Door and Window set, links below.  I added lace to the top of the roofs and the windows.  The lace is available at Live and Love Crafts.

The flowers were cut using the vintage flourish leaves and flower die, links at the bottom.

The baby's breath is also from Live and Love Crafts.

The sunglasses on the chair is from the A5 Paper Art Holiday, love them :)

The little bricks are theDutch Doobadoo Softwood and covered in gesso.

The little tag is another Dutch Doobadoo product Labels 01
