LLC January Challenge and Some Exciting News

Happy New Year to all my Friends and Followers

Wishing you Health, Happiness, Friendship and Good times in 2014

It's the 1st January 2014 and time for Live and Love Crafts first challenge of the year and before I give you the theme I have some exciting news to share with you.

I am an SNR Class Instructor

This is very exciting for me and will make sure I get those tutorials done that you all keep asking me about.  For those of you who have not heard of SNR (Scrapbook News and Review), here'a a little about them.

Scrapbook News and Review Magazine is the largest online paper crafting magazine in the world. Each month, we offer over 200 original pieces of artwork, including layouts, cards, stamped items, mixed media and altered art and home décor projects as well as a wealth of other inspiring projects and ideas.

We also offer in-depth articles, product reviews, and fun and practical technique tutorials complete with pictures and step-by-step instructions to guide you throughout the whole creative process. Even more, we have an online classroom that offers classes in every category and style to fit the needs of crafters from the beginner to the more advanced, and all classes are taught by passionate instructors with a desire to teach and share. No matter what your style or skill level, you’ll always find a class to fit your needs.

My first tutorial will be of the swinging baby cradle with cot mobile and vintage drawers set in a nursery scene, do you remember this?  Well on Friday 3rd January my video tutorial will be going live, eeek, so you'll be able to follow me every step of the way.

I have also in the making a second tutorial on how to make the Lace Book below which is also my project for the LLC January challenge.  If you are interested in this tutorial don't worry I will be back to let you know when it will be going live.  I'd also appreciate knowing if there is anything specific you would like me to do a tutorial on, just leave me a comment or email me.

Oops, nearly forgot to tell you what the LLC challenge theme is.   Well the challenge is perfume.  Interpret as you wish.  I have took a picture of Jean Paul Gaultier's perfume

There are so many ideas I had with this picture, chic, elegant, beautiful and of course the fabulous shape of the bottle, so I put it altoghether and arrived at this beautiful lace book.  The dress was created using Maya Design crea papers and like the bottle, goes in at all the right places, lol.  I have also picked up the colours of black and pink.

I tried to co-ordinate the all the embellishments to black, white and a dash of pink and just love the result.

The gorgeous flowers were complimented with the black berries, so perfect for this project.

It's Spring and a Frantage Video Tutorial

Morning Crafters,

Warning - Long Post, grab a coffee, sit back and chill

I am a little excited today and a little nervous, well actually a lot nervous, lol.  Sandy and the Team have been receiving quite a few emails about the frantage that we have all been using, so I have made a little tutorial.  It's my first video, so please go easy on me, although I would really love to read your thoughts on it, but before you do I would like to show you my DT card for this week's theme with is "Spring". This to me means daffodils so I have done my card in yellow and added some blue for the bluebells.

I have used the new Maja Designs Spring Basics 12x12 and the little calendar is from the Maja Designs Spring Basics 6x6 pad. I have used an image from one of my favourite artists, Sarah Kay, I just love Sarah's images, and yes I have have frantaged this card too, lol. All products used on my card and on the video are on the thumbnails at the bottom of the post, just click and you'll be directed to the product within the Live and Love Crafts Store.

Here's a close up of the floral display and you can just see in the corner one of the metal corners which I have also frantaged along with the beads, check them out, they are sooooo cool, well not at first when you melt them, lol.  Isn't the Penny Farthing just awesome, I absolutely love it!

You can see that I have cut out a magnolia corner and also added a little frantage.  The little peg had a dose of gesso, another favourite of mine. All the edges have been distressed with walnut stain distress ink.  Again, you can see the beads clearly in this image.

And wow look at this wooden butterfly that I have frantaged and the beautiful mottley effect that it gives.  Love, love, love it.
Lastly a close up of the image, coloured in distress inks.

O.K. now it's time to show you how I made all these embellishments using the FRANTAGE. Hope you enjoy it and I'd love to hear what you think of my first video.

If you have made it to the end then thank you.  The time just flew.  Just for a recap for you I have put some of the colours below.

And here's the products, all frantaged in their glory.  You will see in the bottom right hand corner one of the new prima clocks, doesn't it look fab frantaged, lol.

 Hope I have inspired you.
