Colour Texture at Make It Colourful

Hi Peeps,

It's Friday and although it is the start of the weekend I am looking after a supplier from overseas, so the start to my weekend is a little delayed and will probably commence after I drop them back at their hotel sometime late tonight, grrrrrr.

Today at Make It Colourful the challenge is to create texture using your colouring medium.  I have again selected some of the new Winter Objects from Make It Crafty, I so love these elements to create gorgeous scenes for all those winter and Christmas cards.  I Used two of the tree's and the bench and paired up with my mini magnolia.

The picture isn't brilliant as it was late last night and my craft light did it's best, but it just ain't good enough.  I promise I will re-take but as I am entertaining an overseas's supplier I'm sad to say it may be Saturday morning before I get the opportunity. (REVISED - new picture below)

Ingredients:-

Winter Objects by Make It Crafty
Mini Magnolia Tilda
Magnolia Snowflake (forgot I had this)
Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder
Tim Holtz Snowflake Die
Magnolia Doohickey Fence Die

Large Snowflake from Asda
Embossed glittered Vellum Paper
Tim Holtz Distress Ink (walnut stain)

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:-

Follow Me

Hi Peeps,

I'm late with my crafts and me post but mainly because it was grim last night when I remembered I hadn't taken my photo so I wanted to wait until I got in from work to retake the photo and then when I was in work I realised I was going to the gymn straight from work and again it would have been too dark when I got home, so I had to rope OH in. I really think a craft lamp would need to be added to my wish list for  Christmas.

The theme today over at Crafts and Me is "Blue".  I have chosen this "Follow Me" by Sweetpea stamps available at Crafts and Me.

Ingredients:-

Image Follow Me by Sweetpea Stamps available from Crafts and Me

Where's Santa

Hiya Peeps,

I have another Christmas card to share with you today.  I have paired up this cute little Where's Santa Bildarmarna Stamp  with Make It Crafty's Digital Winter Objects and Festive Elements.  If you'd like to learn how to mask your rubber stamp with digital images please see my tutorial HERE.

I coloured with snow using copics of course and then when I had finished the colouring I used the Copic Opaque White with a very small paint brush and added the snow falling.

The wooden ornament Crystals with embossed with an irredescent embossing powder so they twinkle in the light.

Aren't they just the sweetest and with the additional elements makes for a beautiful scene don't you think.

Here's the many copics that I used and after I took the photo and returned to my desk I noticed that the C5 and C7 was still on my desk, so they are not in the photo but I definitely used them on the lamp.

Ingredients:-

All that glitters is not gold!

Hi Peeps,

I have another Christmas card made with the Whiff of Joy "From Heaven Above" paired with the new Authentique  6 x 6 pad Poised & Warmth. My sister said to me that she couldn't make a christmas card as she didn't have any chistmas papers, so this card is just to show her, "oh yes you can", lol.

Isn't she a little darling.

I'm off to the gymn this morning, my third and final session of the week.  Well until Monday when another week starts.  I'm seeing the results now and enjoying it, it's just difficult trying to fit everything in so I usually do two evenings straight from work and one session at the weekend at my leisure.

Enjoy the weekend.

Sneek Peek

Hiya Peeps,

Gosh hasn't it turned cold this week.  After 29 degrees heat a couple of weeks ago to 2.5 degrees this week it has certainly come as a big shock.  I'm hiding under my duvet whilst hubby is on nightshift.  I can't say I've been in the mood to craft either.  I really could do with someone else doing my housework and cooking to free me up some time, any offers?????

I have another sneek peek to show you today and I believe this one is called "Clematis", from the new artist at Crafts and Me, isn't she beautiful adorned with clematis flowers everywhere.  I haven't quite finished this card really.  I want to add some shading and clouds around her so I will be returning to this card over the weekend but am struggling with my mojo this week.

Ingredients:-

Image "Clematis" Soon to be available from Crafts and Me
Papers by Pion
Heart Doily from Bizzy Becs

Orange at Crafts and Me & Sneek Peek

Hiya Peeps,

I'm a little late with my post for Crafts and Me today. Just don't know where my time has gone, although i did have a rushed evening last night. I had to pick my son up from an after school football match which meant I didn't get home until after 6pm and then had to leave again at 6:30 for Ollie's first puppy class. Well,I have to report that I got put in the naughty corner with him, lol. I think he got a little bored waiting whilst the spokesperson outlined all the legalities of owning a dog and he started to bark at her. I had to remove him to the end of the hall until he was quite and then he could return. This happened four times and Ollie was the only one. Guess I have a naughty one, lol.

Right, enough gassing. I have used a sneek peek of the new Artist coming soon at Crafts and Me, so you'll have to watch out for the release date. She's so new that I don't even know here name yet, ooops!

And here's my card:-

I have coloured her using my copics of course and speaking of copics, Diny from the Copic Marker Europe Blog has revealed test results of a comparison between the ink content of Copic Markers and the new Flexmarker. They put all the markers in a machine and let the markers run over a paper roll. When the marker is empty they messure the length of the ink line. The results were very, very good for Copics. Here are the results:

Flexmarker 650 meter
Copic Ciao 790 meter
Copic Sketch 830 meter
Copic (Original) 1320 meter.

With these results I can not find one reason why people should buy a Flexmarker instead of a Copic Ciao Marker. There are so many benifits by Copic, which we wont't mention as we don't want to speak bad about other products. Copic speaks for itself.

If you want to see a comparison between the different alcohol based markers at the market, go to Lydia's blog, she has uploaded a video on the subject.

There is also a challenge on the CME Blog using the video tutorial by fellow teamie Penni colouring dark skin, all details are HERE, you could win 3 sketch markers of your choice, so well worth entering.

That's it from me peeps.

Reminder Make it Colourful Bi-weekly Challenge & Candy

Hiya Peeps,

Just wanted to remind you all that Make it Colourful has gone bi-weekly so you still have until next Thursday to enter your project into the challenge for "sheer clothing".  I had difficulty choosing an image and finally settled on a Tilda coupled with the new RED RUBBER Daffodil Dell from Make it Crafty.  Yes, I am collecting the Make It Crafty rubber cos as you know I am at heart a rubber girl, lol.

I hand drew where I thought her underskirt would be.  I chose slightly lighter colours than the outer dress and then created my sheer skirt going over the top with my choice of copic BG's.  I am not entirely happy with this project and I need to practice.

I have added my favourite Make it Crafty chippies and gave them a generous coat of green acrylic paint.  I have also added those gorgeous Marianne D Creatables English Rose LR0162 and equally gorgeous Magnolia Butterfly Die.

Also don't forget you still have time to do the Christmas Make it crafty Blog Hop where all the DT have Candy up for grabs, it starts HERE
