Wee Baby Boy

Hi Peeps,

I made this card to fit the current TOMIC Challenge and have almost forgot to post it.  I have such a lot going on at the moment, my kitchen is being re-fitted and basically the contents are strewn around the dining room and living room, I have lengths of worktops running through the dining room into the lounge and half the cupboards fitted in the kitchen and the rest in the garage.  The cooker is working but the hob needs an electrician and some pipework doing as the legislation has changed. I have no kitchen sink at the moment so am washing up in the Utility room and basically I'm a clean and tidy person, craft room is an exception, so I'm not coping with it very well and whatever I do it doesn't look tidy at all. It will be lovely when finished, just not sure when that will be.....

Any way back to why I popped on here.....

Ahhh isn't he just the cutest!

Adele and Love Life

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for being MIA this week.  I picked up Hubbies germs and have been hiding under my quilt. Each time I put my hand out I was freezing, so it was best to stay under and hide.

My card for you today is generally not my style.  I'm known as the Queen of Embellishments  and I always struggle to do the clean and simple look, so I know my teamies will not think this card has been made by me at all.  I have used the image Adele, she is so beautiful.  I have coloured her with a combination of pencils and I'm sorry to say I didn't take note of them as this started off as a playing around session.  The image was printed onto Murano paper which was introduced to me by teamie Jane, it's a textured paper which pencils love.

Image Adele available in Digi and Rubber
Paper Be Happy by My Minds Eye

My second card for you today is by the artist Zindy Nielson and is called Love Life.  I used just one pencil for this one, prisma 90% Grey.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Colouring the wood of a Tree

Hi Copic Friends,

I have chosen today to show you how I colour the wood of a tree.  I have aimed this at beginners and am using the Make It Crafty Tree image which already has some of the shading area highlighted for you.  As I prepared this tutorial I had selected E29, E25 and E53, but you will notice as we go through the tutorial that I added E50 to the mix.

I am going to colour in sections.  This will give the tree some depth.  If I was to start and use 3 colours directly across then the image would look very flat.

Start by using your darkest colour E29.  The darkest areas will be at the bottom of the tree, directly underneath where the branches/leaves are and underneath the branches, as indicated by the arrows in the below picture.

Blend out the E29 with E25.  This doesn't have to be neat.  Trees have varying grades of colour and broken lines.

Blend out the E25 with E53, this is a lovely golden colour.

Repeat the process for the second segment.

By the time I got to the middle is when I decided to add some E50.

And this is the finished Wood of the Tree.

Once you have practiced you can apply this principal to any tree, even if it doesn't have the shading areas identified for you.

Rosie and Felix

Hi Peeps,

Hope you all had a fab weekend.  I went out on my bike on Saturday and Hubby had planned a route which he told me was relatively flat, how wrong was heeeeeeeeeeeee. I was seiously doubting whether I could continue after about 15 miles of more ups than downs.  My bottom was in excrutiating pain along with my poor knees.  My legs were tired but I found the strength to carry on, but if I had been anywhere near home that's where I would of headed.  We did accomplish 33 miles, so I am really pleased with that but each time I sit or climb the stairs I am reminded of what I was doing on Saturday, only a couple more weeks and all my pain with be behind me........

Just to let you know that BunnyZoe is sponsoring Partytime Tuesday this week and the theme is an easy one, "Anything Goes", so if you'd like to win some goodies from BunnyZoe join in the challenge HERE.  I have joined in and created this card using Whimsy Stamps Rose and Felix.  The stamp design is by Sylvia Vet, beautiful stamps.

I have coloured the image with distress inks.

I have used Cosmo Cricket Evangeline 6 x 6 paper pad, they are all gorgeous.
Here's a close up of the gorgeous Rose and Felix.

I have used one of the new prima wooden buttons, they are fabulous and just hanging from the button is a bird cage charm, both available from BunnyZoe.

And here's a pic of the little tag taken out of the card and attacked with white Gesso.
